Schools Youth work
Seeing young people thrive is the very reason 24-7 Youth Work exists.
We wholeheartedly believe it takes a village to raise a child. That’s why 24-7YW helps build strong connections between local schools and local churches, equipping and placing trained youth workers into school communities.
Here at SYC, we currently have 10 youth leaders serving as trained youth workers, supporting our local kura. Our role is to walk alongside young people whenever we’re needed—recognising, celebrating, and honouring the unique beauty and value in every person.
Cashmere High School
Te iringa o Kahukura
SYC Trust has been providing 24-7YW in Cashmere High School for over 25 years. We currently have 4 amazing youth workers in this kura who support students by providing mentoring, developing senior leaders and coaching sports teams.

Christchurch South Karamata
Intermediate School
Our partnership with Christchurch South Karamata Intermediate is over 15 years strong. Our two youth workers work closely with the schools counselling team to provide extra support for students in class and through mentoring. They organise fun lunch time activities for students and assist them in preparing for high school by helping to foster relationships with their future youth workers and peers.

Hillmorton High School
Te Kura Tuarua o Horomaka
Hillmorton High School is one of the founding schools of 24-7YW, almost 30 years ago. Our current team of 3 youth workers are involved in the life of the school by providing mentoring, classroom support and being a presence within cultural and sporting teams.

Middleton Grange School
Our relationship with Middleton Grange also spans many years. Annabelle works alongside both intermediate and high school students through mentoring, coaching hockey and being part of school camps and trips.
MGS Youth Worker: Annabelle McLennan
We are so grateful to our schools and those who partner with us to deliver presence-based youth work in our communities and support our youth workers training and development.
