Programmes

Our programmes are a key part of who we are and what we do. These are great places for young people to find a sense of belonging, make friends and always know there is someone around to be a listening ear.

Programmes run every week during school terms.

All our weekly programmes are currently based at

South West Baptist Church, 244 Lyttelton St, Spreydon

"Youth Group has become the safe place our children get to attend with no expectation or judgement. Most importantly, everyone is welcome and the inclusiveness is heart warming. What started out as 'just giving it a go' turned into belonging."

Care Groups

Once a term we run  ‘Care Group Nights’, these are a great opportunity for rangatahi to connect, build relationships, and have fun with their peers and youth leader. Made up of 4-8 people, care groups allow us to foster meaningful conversations and deeper connections. It’s a time to enjoy each other's company, share experiences, and grow together in a supportive and engaging environment.

SYC All In

All In nights are when all our programmes come together for a whole lot of fun through kai, games, music and hearing inspiring messages from people in our community.

Camps

Camps and tramps have always been part of what we do at SYC! Why? Because they’re just so much fun! Not to mention they provide unique opportunities to connect and strengthen relationships, and offer experiences that build confidence and resilience. These events are big highlights in our calendar each year! At Easter we converge on Spencer Park with 4000 other young people from across the South Island for Eastercamp. Winter camps take place in some beautiful Canterbury locations and hopefully we get to see and play in some snow! And once it warms up and exams are all over for the year, our seniors set out to walk the Abel Tasman. Keen to join in on these experiences? Get in touch with us!
